Campus Compact’s Community Engagement Professional Credentialing Program provides civic and community engagement professionals (CEPs) the opportunity to gain formal recognition for the knowledge and skills they develop through their careers. It is also encourages and directs CEPs toward ongoing professional learning activities that foster reflective, inclusive, and equity-focused partnerships and commitments.
Professionals may apply for and earn individual credentials--digital certificates recognizing knowledge, skills, experience, and critical commitments--that demonstrate their mastery in each core competency area. Each credential is granted individually and has integrity and value in its own right. Ultimately, professionals can combine individual credentials earned across a range of competency areas to seek full credentialed status as a Campus Compact-certified community engagement professional.
To qualify for full certification as a Campus Compact Certified CEP, you must earn each of the three (3) essential credentials--Community Engagement Fundamentals, Equity & Inclusion, and Community Partnerships--as well as at least two (2) elective credentials.
The six (6) elective credentials currently available to earn are:
- Assessment and Evaluation
- Community-Engaged Learning & Teaching
- Engaged Research
- Institutionalizing Engagement
- Program Administration
- Supporting Engaged Faculty Development
