Campus Compact is an action-oriented coalition of colleges and universities. The Richard Guarasci and Eduardo J. Padrón Awards for Presidential Leadership recognizes college Presidents that exemplify commitment to civic and community engagement. The awards are named for Richard Guarasci and Eduardo J. Padrón, higher education leaders whose efforts have transformed their institutions to contribute to the goal of full participation in our communities and our democracy.
Through these awards, Campus Compact will recognize Presidents at member institutions that center the values of higher education community engagement to transform their institutions. According to a study by the APLU, the purpose of institutional transformation is to improve the lives of students and the communities in which they are based.
